How’s that old song go?  “Faded photographs. Covered now with lines and creases.”

Seems the more important the picture, the more it gets handled and thus the more it shows signs of use. Makes sense but as time goes by, the damage done to the photograph and the natural aging of the picture as the colors fade will lessen the emotional heft of that stolen moment of time.
